Some 176 senior citizens were
qualified to avail of the pension program of the Department of Social Welfare
and Development (DWSD). Each pensioner is entitled to receive the Php 500.00
cash per month which will be given quarterly through the representative from
the DWSD Caraga regional office.
A qualified social pensioner
must be at least 77 years old and above and a non-pensioner of any other
government agencies. Each pensioner
should bring the Office of Senior Citizen Affairs (OSCA) identification card,
voters ID / voter’s certification or any proof of identity during pay out. In case of health problem of the pensioner
during pay out, any representative to claim the pension must present a valid ID
card and “PAGTUGOT” (note of permission) which is signed by the registered
pensioner and the barangay captain.
The municipality has a total
record of 1,260 registered senior citizens from the 12 barangays this year.☻
